Data from leading property consultancy Galbraith supports these findings with the firm’s team in Stirling reporting an active property market throughout 2024. The most attractive properties have sold successfully having achieved competitive bids.

Jamie Currie who leads the residential sales team for Galbraith, Stirling, said: “Activity in the Stirlingshire property market has increased this year as buyers continue to acknowledge the advantages of a rural lifestyle combined with easy access to city centre amenities and cultural attractions, be it in Stirling or in Glasgow and Edinburgh both only a 45 minute drive away.

“This increase in activity has been evident particularly at the top end of the market, for properties above the £500,000 price bracket, where high quality properties have attracted a lot of competition, as long as they are priced accurately.”

Among the standout sales handled by Galbraith, Stirling this year was Stronvar Garden Cottage in Balquhidder, Stirlingshire, a beautifully presented detached country home located in a highly scenic rural setting within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. The property was marketed at offers over £575,000 with the sale completing successfully to a buyer south of the border following a competitive closing date.

Mansfield Farmhouse

Mansfield Farmhouse in Doune, Stirlingshire, a charming, detached country home originally marketed for offers over £395,000 has just gone to a closing date through Galbraith after only being on the market for two weeks. Mansfield benefits from a range of detached outbuildings and one acre of land.

Jamie continued: “Stronvar Garden Cottage and Mansfield Farmhouse are both excellent examples of the quality of family properties available in Stirlingshire, offering a countryside lifestyle whilst being just a short commute to the city centre and all its amenities.

“We have recorded a significant increase in the number of English buyers attracted to rural Stirlingshire with value for money also being a big incentive. The Scottish system takes less time than the process in England, and buyers from south of the border are in a strong position as they tend to have sold their property already. A good lifestyle is a huge factor when it comes to relocating and Stirlingshire certainly offers that in abundance.”

Galbraith as a whole, which operates across Scotland and the north of England, reported a year-on-year increase in sales of 14 per cent for 2024 and an increase in average pricing of 11 per cent.
