Larry Irwin, Director of the energy team at Galbraith, said: “The expansion of our energy and rural management division is a strategic priority for the firm and we are delighted to welcome two new graduates to Aberdeen. Both John and Emma are graduates of the SRUC with degrees in rural business management.”

John grew up on his family’s farm near Insch, Aberdeenshire. His interest in agriculture then led him to look for a professional career working with landowners,  following his studies at SRUC.

Emma has always been interested in pursuing a career in rural surveying and land management. She is working towards her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) the professional surveying accreditation,  while gaining experience across a broad spectrum of services with Galbraith.

Larry continued: “At Galbraith, we pride ourselves on our support for the next generation and we are delighted that John and Emma have joined the team. They will be working on a wide portfolio of rural valuations, renewable energy projects and professional management work.

“In the energy team we are currently addressing the impact on landowners of planned cable corridors and connections into the electricity network. In particular the Offshore Windfarms, such as Bowdun, Caledonia and GreenVolt are all being promoted for development and are likely to have a significant impact in the local areas if they go ahead.”

Galbraith manages and provides advice on farm, forestry, land and estate interests totalling over 4.5 million acres across Scotland and Northern England.
